If you are driving from Reykjavík, you can drive through Hvalfjarðargöng. You drive road 1 (about 70 km) until you reach road 50, which is on the right from road 1. Then you drive about 23 km, or until you reach a signpost Hvítárbakki. There you go to the left onto road nr. 514. You turn again to the left after about 500 m. Then you drive 4 km and you reach Hvítárbakki.

If you are driving from Akureyri you drive on road 1 (about 290 km) until you reach road nr 50 on the left hand. Then you drive about 30 km or until you reach a signpost Hvítárbakki on the right hand, road nr. 513. Then you turn to the left and drive for about 4 km road nr. 514.
